I’ve added the category Publications.
That a post shows up in the recent publication widget it is necessary that it has the category publication.

I am sorry but I do not see a category Publications anywhere on the website.
If you create a new post you can choose its category(somewhere to the right). By default posts are posted to the category “Uncategorized”
