Focus Session
Recent developments in computational many body physics.
Organizers: F. F. Assaad (assaad@physik.uni-wuerzburg.de) and R. Noack (Reinhard.Noack@physik.uni-marburg.de) on behalf of the DFG-FOR1807 (https://for1807.physik.uni-wuerzburg.de/)
We are witnessing sustained progress in numerical methods for strongly correlated electron systems. The aim of this focus session is to provide a selection of recent achievements as well as an overview of new directions. Numerical simulations provide invaluable insights in fermion quantum criticality, many body localization as well as in coupled fermion-boson systems. Tensor networks offer immense possibilities to tackle problems in and out of equilibrium. Finally, new directions such as machine learning and quantum computations will greatly impact the field. To at best organize this session, we have selected six speakers all of which greatly contributed to the advancement of their subject. We have contacted all proposed speakers.
Speakers:
Z. Y. Meng | Fermion quantum criticality |
D. Luitz | Many body localization |
I. Cirac | Tensor networks/ quantum information |
B. Bauer | Quantum Computations |
M. Hohenadler | Coupled boson-fermion systems |
G. Carleo | machine leaning for many body systems |
